Public Lecture on Computational Linguistics


September 24 (Thursday) at 14:15 there will be a public lecture on computational linguistics at the BSU Faculty of Philology.

The public lecture will be held by the staff-members of the Speech synthesis and recognition Laboratory of the United Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

Problem-based field, which will be discussed during the speech are:

− Character and alphabetical word processing.

− Word-by-word processing.

− Spell check.

− Text conversion  into phonetic spelling and prosodic transcription.

− Speech synthesis on the input text.

− Speech recording into audio files.

− Linguistic and acoustic resources.

− Automatic references compiling for scientific papers.

These and many other problems can be solved by means of computational linguistics. We invite you to take part in a public lecture to find out more about open free sources that solve similar problems.

We are waiting for all interested on September 24 at 14:15 in the auditorium of the BSU Faculty of Philology at the address 31 K. Marksa Street.
